Echinacea purpurea 'Ruby Star' is my favorite purple coneflower. The stunning flowers have deep reddish-mauve petals and orange-brown central cones. The petals are held horizontally. It was named Cut Flower of the Year 2006.
Purple Coneflower 'Ruby Star' won the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Drought tolerant. Hardy in zones 3-9.
