Viola 'Blue Perfection'
(Viola cornuta)
65 seeds $3.50
Viola 'Blue Perfection' is a lovely selection with soft blue flowers that go well with many other annuals and perennials. It's a large-flowered variety. Violas are more free-flowering than pansies, which makes up for the blooms being smaller. They are perfect for containers, where the small blooms can be admired up close. Hardy in zones 5-9. Height 8", spacing 6".
Viola 'Admiration'
(Viola cornuta)
65 seeds $3.50
Admiration is my favorite large-flowered viola. The flowers are larger than Bowles Black, but smaller than pansies. I like to use Viola 'Admiration' as a filler in large pots or as a groundcover in small garden areas. It looks wonderful with everything, and it self sows nicely in my zone 5b garden. Hardy in zones 5-9. Height 8", spacing 6".
Viola 'Bowles Black'
(Viola cornuta)
65 seeds $3.50
Viola 'Bowles Black' is a small plant with masses of purple-black flowers. Place it near the edge of a path or in containers where you can enjoy the adorable little flowers up close. Viola 'Bowles Black' self-sows nicely in the garden, filling in the cracks between larger plants. It's also suitable for rock gardens where a groundcover is desired. Hardy in zones 5-9. Height 6", spacing 4".
Viola 'Arkwright Ruby'
(Viola cornuta)
65 seeds $3.50
Arkwright Ruby is a large-flowered viola with dark wine-red flowers. It looks especially good in warm color schemes. One of my favorite things about Viola cornuta is the mild-flavored, edible flowers can be used to decorate salads and cakes. They don't have the bitterness of pansies (Viola x wittrockiana). Hardy in zones 5-9. Height 8", spacing 6".
Viola 'White Perfection' has large, pure white flowers. It combines beautifully with everything in the garden, increasing the intensity of the other colors by contrast. It is perfect for brightening up a shady corner of the yard. Large-flowered violas are my favorites because the flowers are not too small, and they are more productive than pansies. Hardy in zones 5-9. Height 8", spacing 6".

Viola 'Lutea Splendens' is a large-flowered viola with golden-yellow flowers. It's a wonderful choice for adding bright, cheerful color to any garden bed or container. Violas are easy to grow - asking only for regular watering and average soil. They appreciate a little afternoon shade in hot climates, but they are not too picky. Most of them self-sow pretty well. Hardy in zones 5-9. Height 8", spacing 6".
