Sweet Pea 'Flora Norton'
(Lathyrus odoratus)
30 seeds $3.50
Flora Norton is an antique sweet pea with soft clear blue flowers. It has the most delicious fragrance of any sweet pea I've ever smelled. It's not the strongest fragrance, but there's something particularly pleasing about it. It's a little less vigorous than our other heirloom varieties, but well worth growing.
Sweet Pea 'Flora Norton' was introduced by Morse & Vaughn in 1904.

Sowing Flora Norton Sweet Pea Seeds
Start indoors or sow outdoors 8 weeks before the last frost date, 1/2" deep and 4" apart. In the south, sow in late fall. If starting in pots, move to a sheltered location outside when most of the seedlings appear (before the leaves unfurl). Bring indoors if temperatures drop below 20 degrees. Transplant to the garden 2-3 weeks before the last frost date. Full sun to part shade. All parts of the plants and seeds are poisonous.
