Papaver paeoniflorum Mix has large, double flowers that resemble peonies. It blooms in shades of red, pink, purple and white. It's a wonderful addition to the cottage garden from early summer to midsummer. The blue-green seed pods can be used in dried flower arrangements.
Papaver paeoniflorum grows best in the cool weather of spring. Sow outdoors several weeks before the last frost date. Sow in the fall in mild winter areas. It reseeds where it's happy. Easy to grow. Deer resistant.
