Lunaria annua blooms in late spring with fragrant, purple flowers followed by disc-shaped, silvery-white, paper-like seed pods that inspired its common names - Silver Dollar, Money Plant and Honesty. The seed pods are used in dried flower arrangements.
Lunaria makes a great addition to the wildflower garden. It attracts bees and butterflies. It also makes a good cut flower.
Lunaria annua is a hardy biennial in zones 4-8. Shade-tolerant. Easy to grow. Self-sows. Also known as Lunaria biennis.
