They are tender and stringless when young. The purple color makes them easy to spot among the vines. Lovely purple flowers, too!
This Ozark mountains heirloom was introduced by Henry Field in the 1930's.
Sowing Purple Podded Pole Bean Seeds
Sow bean seeds outdoors 2 weeks after the last frost date, 1” deep and 3” apart. Provide a trellis. Full sun.
