Amaranth 'Love Lies Bleeding'
(Amaranthus caudatus)
2400 seeds $3.00
Amaranth 'Love Lies Bleeding' is an unusual heirloom plant with long, drooping strands of burgundy-red flowers in late summer. Also called tassel flower.
Love Lies Bleeding amaranth gives the garden a touch of the exotic or the old-fashioned, depending on what it's combined with. It also makes an interesting container plant or cut flower.

Amaranth Seeds
Amaranth is a tall annual plant with large panicles of tiny flowers. In the fall, it produces edible seeds. Easy to grow.
Sowing Amaranth Seeds
Sow amaranth seeds outdoors close to the last frost date. Or start indoors 4 weeks early. Barely cover with soil. Thin to 15" apart. Full sun.
Amaranth 'Golden Giant'
(Amaranthus cruentus)
350 seeds $3.00
Amaranth 'Golden Giant' is a high-protein, gluten-free grain. The large plumes of golden-brown flowers bloom from mid summer to fall, and the ripening seeds attract flocks of birds.
Golden Giant is a heavy producer of delicious, white seeds. This is the best amaranth for grain production for home gardeners. 98-110 days to maturity.

Amaranth 'Hopi Red Dye'
(Amaranthus cruentus x powellii)
2400 seeds $3.00
Amaranth 'Hopi Red Dye' is a beautiful annual with dark, purplish-red leaves and burgundy-red flowers. It looks terrific at the back of the border.
Hopi Red Dye has shiny black seeds that can be cooked for cereal or ground into a gluten-free flour. The tender, young leaves of this variety are my favorite for adding to soups. 110 days to maturity.
