Sidalcea malviflora 'Purpetta' is a rare variety with deep purplish-pink flowers. My daughter, Megan, the owner of Megan's Heirloom Seeds, grows this in her garden in Ogden, UT (zone 5).

Sidalcea 'Purpetta' self-sows lightly once it gets established, which may take a couple of years. It looks great with roses, lilies, and many other perennials.

Sidalcea malviflora enjoys part shade in hot summer areas. In cooler climates, it likes full sun. The flowers attract hummingbirds. Also known as Checker Mallow, Miniature Hollyhock and Dwarf Checkerbloom. Deer resistant. Hardy perennial in zones 5-9.
